Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2023 PMS Online Form
The Bihar government is accepting online applications for the Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for students belonging to BC & EBC categories and SC & ST categories for the academic year 2023-24. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the PMS Online portal at pmsonline.bih.nic.in.
The Chief Minister’s BC and EBC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the academic session 2023-24 is currently open for applications. Eligible candidates can apply through the PMS portal at pmsonline.bih.nic.in and the Mobile App. The application period started on 28th August 2023 and will continue until 31st December 2023.

What is Post Matric Scholarship?

This scheme covers students studying in post-matric classes within the state and outside the state. It operates under both state funding and the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Post-Matric Scholarships. Mode of Distribution of Scholarship 2023
To ensure the prompt disbursement of scholarship funds to recipients, State Governments/UT administrations are urged to refrain from cash payments. Clear directives should be issued to all relevant parties, emphasizing that scholarship payments be exclusively made to beneficiaries through their accounts in post offices or banks. States/UTs are encouraged to adopt the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. It is imperative that scholarship disbursement through Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts is enforced by the States/UTs.
Rate of Post Matric Scholarship For Bihar
Following the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, the Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, along with the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, has issued directives at regular intervals. The payment of scholarships and maintenance allowances will be based on the parameters prescribed in the resolution.

How To Apply Online For Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2023
- This Post Matric Scholarship portal is only open for BC, EBC SC and ST students resident of Bihar State.
- This portal is currently open only for Academic year 2023-24.
- Students eligible as per advertisement of Post Matric Scholarship of Education Department, Govt. of Bihar need to apply.
- A student will get scholarship only once for each academic year.
- A student only need to apply only once for one academic year otherwise his/her application will be rejected.
- Before apply check the name of your institution in registered list of institutions.
- Institution need to register first on the portal before you can apply. The institution will be provisionally approved for enabling the student to apply. Only after physical verification by a duly constituted committee of Govt. of Bihar payment will be released.
- Ensure that student bank account is active and is in the name of student only.
- Student applications for Post Matric Scholarship will be verified both by institution authorities and duly constituted committee of Govt. of Bihar.
- Students can register to the portal by providing details such as Name, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and email etc.
- User ID and Password after successful registration will be sent to registered mobile number.
- Do not share User ID and PASSWORD with any other person.
- After obtaining User ID and PASSWORD login to the portal and complete the form and finally submit the form.

- After completion of the form finally submit the application form on portal and print a copy of the application form for future reference. No Change is permissible after final submission of the form.
- he student’s application will undergo thorough verification by the respective institution, and a duly constituted committee of the Government of Bihar will physically verify it from institutional records. The Post Matric Scholarship will be disbursed to the student’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) [PFMS] only after following the prescribed process set by the Government of Bihar.

- ST – 1, 00,000 (One Lakh)
- BC – 2, 50,000 (Two Lakh fifty thousand)
- EBC – 2, 50,000 (Two Lakh fifty thousand)
Eligibility Criteria for Post Matric Scholarship Bihar
- Must be a permanent resident of Bihar state.
- The caste of the applicant should be under backward class (BC) or extremely backward class (EBC).
- Students belonging to the Backward Class (BC) and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) with an annual income of parents/guardians, including their own income, not exceeding Rs. 3,00,000, are eligible for scholarships under this scheme. To qualify, the applicant must be enrolled in post-admission courses offered by government institutions or recognized non-government institutions within the state.
