SSB Odisha TGT Eligibility Criteria 2024

Trained Graduate Teachers (Arts) :

To be eligible, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/ Commerce or a Shastri (Sanskrit) Degree from a recognized University. They should have proficiency in two school subjects (as defined in the proviso below) from a recognized University, with an aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ SEBC candidates). Additionally, candidates should have completed a Bachelors in Education (B.Ed.) or a 3 years integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from any NCTE recognized Institution. Or

Candidates should have successfully completed the Four-years Integrated B.A. B.Ed. program from any Institution recognized by NCTE. They must have proficiency in two school subjects (as defined in the proviso below) and achieved an aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ SEBC candidates).

In any circumstance, candidates should have cleared the Bachelor’s Degree with any two school subjects provided as Pass, Hons., Elective, Optional, Compulsory, or Foundation subjects from the following:

Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Indian Economy, Indian Geography, Indian Polity, Landmarks in Indian History, Odia, Political science and Sanskrit.

TGT (Science) (PCM) & TGT (Science) (CBZ) :

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ B.Tech./ B.E. from a recognized University, demonstrating proficiency in two school subjects (defined in the proviso below). The aggregate marks obtained should be 50% (45% for SC/ST/PWD/SEBC candidates). Furthermore, candidates must have completed a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or a 3 years integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from an Institution recognized by NCTE. Or

Candidates are required to have undertaken the Four-years Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. program from an Institution recognized by NCTE. Proficiency in two school subjects (as defined in the proviso below) and an aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD/SEBC candidates) are prerequisites. It is stipulated that:

Regardless of the scenario, candidates are obligated to have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with any two school subjects provided as Pass, Hons., Elective, Optional, or Compulsory subjects from the following:

  1. For Trained Graduate Teacher-Science (PCM): Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
  2. For Trained Graduate Teacher-Science (CBZ): Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, Biotechnology

Classical Teacher (Sanskrit) :

  1. A recognized University should confer a Bachelor’s Degree upon candidates, with Sanskrit as one of the Elective, Optional, Hons., or Pass subjects. Candidates are required to achieve a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PWD/SEBC Candidates). and
  2. Shiksha Shashtri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution / B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized Institution. Or
  3. A recognized University/Institution should confer Shashtri in Sanskrit upon candidates, who must have attained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PWD/SEBC Candidates).
  4. Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE from a recognized University/ Institution/ B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized Institution.

Hindi Teacher :

To be eligible, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with Hindi as one of the Elective, Optional, Hons., or Pass subjects from a recognized University. They should have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD Candidates).

  1. One of the following Training qualifications:
  2. Hindi Sikshan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra
  3. B.H.Ed., a course prescribed by NCTE from a recognized University / Institution
  4. B.Ed. in Hindi, a course prescribed by NCTE, from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized Institution. OR

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University is mandatory, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD candidates), along with one of the following qualifications:

  • Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha
  • Shastri (Hindi) from Odisha Rastrabhasa Parishad, puri
  • Snataka (Acquired by June-2005, the date up to which the temporary recognition has been granted) from Hindi Shiksha Samiti, Odisha, Cuttack. and
  1. One of the following Training qualifications:
    1. Hindi Shikshan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra
    2. B.H.Ed., a course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.
    3. B.Ed. in Hindi, a course prescribed by NCTE, from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras.
    4. B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized Institution.

Urdu Teacher :

  1. Alim I Fazil with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ SEBC/ PwD Candidates) andB.Ed / Urdu B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized University/ Institution. OR
  2. B.A. (Persian) with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ SEBC/ PwD Candidates) andB.Ed/ Urdu B.Ed. from any NCTE recognized University/ Institution.

P.E.T :

+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized Institution and

C.P.Ed./ D.P.Ed./ B.P.Ed./ M.P.Ed from a recognized Board/ University.
