CTET 2024 July Notification, Apply Online ctet.nic.in

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is inviting online applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to be held in July 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the CTET Official Website, ctet.nic.in, from 07th March 2024 to 02nd April 2024 for the 19th edition of the CTET, which will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode on 21st July 2024.

CTET Eligibility Criteria July 2024

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Classes I to V

1.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (referred to by any title).”
2.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (referred to by any title), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.”
3.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program.”
4.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.”
5.“Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).”
“For individuals who have obtained a Bachelor of Education qualification from any NCTE recognized institution, they are eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V. However, it is mandatory for such individuals to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of their appointment as a primary teacher.”
6.“Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program.”

Minimum Educational Qualifications for Classes VI to VIII

2.“Obtained at least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and successfully completed or currently enrolled in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).”
3.“Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), following the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued periodically in this regard.”
4.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program.”
5.“Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed program.”
6.“Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education)*.”
7.“Any candidate who has completed a B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Additionally, as per the current TET guidelines outlined in the NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, individuals pursuing any teacher education courses recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010, are also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.”
8.“Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and successful completion of or currently enrolled in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program.”

CTET Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2024

“All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), offering four alternatives, among which one answer will be considered the most appropriate. Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking.”

There will be two papers of CTET.

  1. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  2. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI toVIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
