There is good news for students who have passed intermediate with good marks in science and are now pursuing further studies in science. Under a special scheme of the Government of India, such meritorious students will be given scholarships. With the aim of promoting higher education in the field of science, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has launched the INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme for meritorious students of Intermediate Science class of the year 2025.

INSPIRE Scholarship is for students who have secured minimum 429 marks (out of 500) in Intermediate and are now admitted to pursuing undergraduate or integrated postgraduate course in basic or natural science subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany or Zoology etc.
Whats is INSPIRE Fellowship?
This fellowship is a special scheme of the Government of India, which is run by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). Its objective is to promote scientific research in the country. This fellowship is for students who wish to pursue a doctorate (PhD) after a master’s degree (Science/Engineering) or a bachelor’s/master’s degree in the medical field.
It includes fields like biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, pharmacy and agriculture. This scheme encourages deserving students to do research and also provides financial aid.
INSPIRE Scholarship 2025 : How to Apply
Students who are eligible for INSPIRE Scholarship can apply online by visiting the Ministry’s website https://online-inspire.gov.in/. Along with the application, students will also have to upload “Eligibility Note” or “Advisory Note”, which can be downloaded from the website of Secondary Education Council upmsp.edu.in by entering the roll number. The application process will start once the website is activated.
Basic Important Details
- Application Sart: September to October 2025 (exact dates to be announced).
- Application Last Month: October 2025.
- Result Announcement: December 2025.
- Eligibility: Top 1% of Class 12 board examination scorers, enrolled in undergraduate courses in natural or basic sciences, and Indian nationals aged 17 to 22 years.
- Scholarship Amount: ₹80,000 per annum (₹60,000 cash and ₹20,000 for summer research projects).
