If you have recently passed class XII and you are a resident of Northeast India, then there is a great news for you. Yes, under the Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025 by the University Grants Commission (UGC), students will be given a scholarship of Rs 8000 every month. For this, students will have to go to the official website (https://www.ugc.gov.in/) of the National Scholarship Portal and fill the application form online.
Under UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025, application forms will be filled till 31 October 2025. To fill the application form, students must fulfill the required criteria and eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only students from North-Eastern states can apply.
- The applying student must be enrolled in the first year of a regular and full-time graduate course.
- Students of distance/open/private/part-time courses are not eligible for this scheme.
- Students taking admission through management quota will also be ineligible.
- The annual income of the applicant’s parents should not exceed ₹4.50 lakh.
- A valid residence certificate of Northeast India is a must.
- Renewal of scholarship will depend on the good performance and attendance of the students.
Conditions for getting scholarship
If you are from Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura or Sikkim state and you have passed 12th from a recognized school (CBSE, CISCE, NIOS), then you are eligible for this scholarship.
UGC Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025- How to Apply
- First of all go to the official website of UGC ugc.gov.in.
- Here click on “Web Portal for Fellowship/ Scholarship Legacy Cases“.
- After this, go to Scholarship Corner and select “Ishan Uday Scholarship”.
- Now register by filling the required details
- After that fill the form by entering other details through login and submit it.
- After filling the form, students should take a printout of it and keep it safe with them.
How much scholarship will be given?
Under this scholarship scheme, students will be given financial assistance of ₹ 8000 every month. This assistance is available for the entire duration of the UG degree course. Students pursuing integrated or dual degree courses will be given scholarship only for the undergraduate part.
