Eligibility Criteria
UPSSSC Scientific Assistant Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a qualification in one of the following four domains:
- Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biological Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Biological Science, Biotechnology, Bio Chemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, or Microbiology from a recognized university/institute.
- Physical Science Domain: B.Sc. in Physical Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Physical Science, Nuclear Science, Instrumentation, or Electronics; OR B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
- Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry / Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry or Bio Chemistry from a recognized university/institute.
- Computer Science Domain: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or an ‘A’ level diploma from NIELIT.
Preferential Qualification: Candidates with an M.Sc. in the relevant subject (for Biology/Physical Science/Chemistry domains), a higher qualification in Computer Science, a minimum of two years’ service in the Territorial Army, or a National Cadet Corps ‘B’ Certificate will be given preference in case of a tie in other respects.
UPSSSC Lab Assistant Educational Qualification
- Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biology Group/Biotechnology/Bio Chemistry/Genetics/Cell Biology/Microbiology from a recognized university/institute.
- Physical Science Domain: B.Sc. in Physical Science Group/Nuclear Science/Instrumentation/Electronics; OR B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics.
- Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry Group/Bio Chemistry from a recognized university/institute.
- Computer Science Domain: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or an ‘A’ level diploma from NIELIT.

- Mathematics: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry and mensuration, trigonometry, statistics, analytical and logical reasoning, advanced topics including permutation-combination and basic calculus.
