Eligibility Criteria

• Graduation Degree from any UGC recognized University.
• Diploma / Certificate in Stenography / Shorthand from ITI / Polytechnic or any recognized institute. (Candidates pursuing can also apply but must submit certificate at the time of document verification).
• Adequate knowledge of the official language of Assam (Assamese).
• Valid Employment Exchange Registration Number of Assam state.

Salary

• Pay Scale : Rs. 22,000/- to Rs. 97,000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 9,700/- along with other allowances as per rules.

Selection Process

• Stage 1: Stenography Test (100 Marks): Speed test in Shorthand at 100 wpm (700 words). Transcription duration 25 minutes on computer. Minimum qualifying marks: 30.
• Stage 2: Written Test (70 Marks): Objective Type MCQ test consisting of English Language Proficiency (50 marks) and Assamese Language (20 marks). Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% in each segment to qualify. Called in a 1:10 ratio based on Stage 1.
• Stage 3: Viva-voce (10 Marks): Called in a 1:3 ratio based on the merit of Stage 1.
• Final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the Stenography Test and Viva-voce.
