Selection Process

The Combined Technical Services Examination (Diploma/ITI) is conducted as a single-stage written examination, followed by onscreen certificate verification, physical certificate verification, and counselling (wherever applicable).

• Total marks considered for final selection: 450 (Part B and Part C of Paper I, plus Paper II).
• Minimum qualifying marks in Part A of Paper I (Tamil Eligibility Test) is 40% (60 marks); Part B and Part C are evaluated only if this qualifying mark is achieved.
• Differently abled candidates can claim exemption from Part A (Tamil Eligibility Test) by declaring this in the online application.
• Candidates must appear for both Paper I and Paper II; failure to appear for either paper disqualifies the candidate from selection, even with qualifying marks.
• After the written exam, onscreen certificate verification is conducted, followed by physical certificate verification and counselling wherever applicable.
• Final selection is based on total marks scored in Part B and Part C of Paper I plus Paper II, subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
• Candidates may choose two district centres as preference for the written examination; benchmark disability candidates may choose only one district centre.
